About Us
GFI is one of three Local Energy Agencies (LEAs) established under the LEAP Project (Local Energy Agencies in the Peripheral Regions). Our mission is to support homeowners, communities, and small businesses in making energy-efficient upgrades through home retrofitting—helping to create warmer, more affordable, and more sustainable living environments.
The LEAP Project is co-funded by the European Union, and aims to bring the benefits of energy retrofitting to communities across the region.
In partnership with the Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Donegal, Leitrim & Sligo County Councils, Údarás na Gaeltachta, and the Aran Islands Energy Cooperative, we are delivering a comprehensive programme made possible through EU LIFE funding to implement a workplan for home retrofitting to make our homes warmer, cheaper to heat and more valuable.
GFI is proud to serve the West Galway Gaeltacht and the Aran Islands, helping to build a greener, more energy-resilient future for our local communities.
